It’s a fact, a girl can never have enough handbags, or shoes, or dresses, trousers, and blouses. Case and point, too much is never enough, except maybe when the price tag is the difference. The one on the right is an adorable little satchel, but it’s the kelly green coloring that has me enraptured, possibly because green is my favorite color. To the left, the crossover body bag could become a fixture in my summer ensembles very easily, it’s chic and sort of vintagey. The real difference between these two are the price tags, guess which one costs more and click the images to find out if you’re t

I’ve wanted a regular old, gold men’s style over-sized watch for a while, but now I’m contemplating the merits of trading that in for a rose-gold timepiece. I actually saw a woman on the train with one of these this morning, and as hard as I tried to play it off I couldn’t take my eyes off of her covet-worthy watch. Something about the tinge of pink makes these watches a little bit more flirty, and although I do like the idea of stealing my boyfriend’s watch, these are beauties. Rectangular or circle, the only difference between these two timepieces, besides their shape is a couple dollars and cents.

The Fake Out: Striped Shorts

With my hips horizontal striped are a no no, so if I’m planning on wearing striped shorts, they’ll be of the vertical or diagonal variety. Although these shorts kind of remind me of the Osh-Kosh variety, but for grown ups and they’re kind of really growing on me. My best friend’s mother once told us that if you’re around the first time a trend is in style, it’s your duty not to wear it again, but I think I can sneak past my toddler style days with these. From the bolder, thick black stripes on the right to the thinner, almost unnoticeable grey stripes on the right, these pairs of shorts could become one of my favorite summer fixtures. They’re so simple and neutral that they’ll go with just about everything, except probably a nautical horizontal stripes that will only end up creating some warped optical illusion that clothing probably never should.

It’s not enough that everyone is wearing them. The maxi skirt is back with a vengeance this season, and I’m loving these insane blends of color that utilize a nice sample spectrum of the rainbow. The burnt orange, brown and green on the piece on the left is totally hippie chic, a little brown leather belt will suffice in topping it off perfectly. The vibrant palette of the skirt on the right makes me feel all summery inside and out, I want to tie my hair up in a bun and slip into a leotard and pull it on underneath, or weat it with a bikini top and sandals while strolling on the beach. Both of these skirts were practically love at first site, so here’s to a summer full of maxi skirts, the wardrobe piece you’ll want in every color and pattern you see.

The Fake Out: Butterfly BroochesThe Fake Out: Butterfly Brooches

They definitely have their place in vintage wardrobes, but regardless of the decade brooches are still delicate and lovely. These butterfly brooches kind of give me butterflies, the inlaid stones and the frames mimic the ethereal beauty of one of natures most beautiful insects. The one on the right is positively adorable, the multi-colored stones bring a brightness and vibrancy that are certain to add a little retro excitement. On the other hand, the brooch on the left is delicate but sort of gothic, it’s a definite beauty, with its wire frame and strategically placed stones. I’d like to thread it onto a piece of thick rope and use it as a waist belt.

The Fake Out: Serpent Watches

To be honest I’m afraid of snakes in real life, but I think these serpent watches have a certain allure that I can work with (possibly because they don’t possess the slithery tongue and scaly body of the real thing). I love the big green emerald eyes of the one on the left, it’s eerie without being too dramatic and something about the scaling details and the way the face was designed makes it a little bit cute. The piece on the right is more like the real thing, the piercing red eyes remind me of that mind control device Jafar had in Aladdin and the crafted scales mimic the body of a snake to a tee. It’s safe to say that I think they’re both diving, but for surprisingly different reasons to go along with the different price tags.

The Fake Out: Wedge Sandals

One of these pieces is a mere $466.00 less than the other

Wedge SandalsWedge Sandals

We’ve been getting teasers of warm weather every now and then, and even though I’m a little bitter that the ground hog lied fashion isn’t letting me down. Wedge sandals are a summer staple and while I’m contemplating a trip to somewhere that has summer all year round these two pairs have got me under their spell. The taupe on natural pale shades of these espadrilles are sure to make my winter worn, faded skin look tanned, even if it is just an illusion. The almost golden shimmer of the wedge on the left makes me think I could pull off wearing these shoes somewhere without sand. The cute little tassel and severely strappy upper of the shoe on the right will are the perfect shoes for my next trip to Jamaica. I can just see myself right now, taking the road to Port Royal to have some of the best fish and festival in the world.
