Coveted Deeply

Five picks of things I’m coveting deeply.

Coveted Deeply

[1] Is it too early to start thinking about what I’d like to ring in the new year with? Perhaps a bottle of Veuve Clicquot or Dom Perignon and this adorable scalloped tiger skirt from Timo Weiland.  It’s a little Blair Waldorf with a little edge and maybe that’s why I love it so much, but it’s definitely on my birthday/Christmas list this year.

[2] I’m heading to Paris in a matter of weeks and if any brand knows the city of lights it’s Louis Vuitton (and Chanel of course). They’ve got guides for quite a few of the fashion capitals around the world, and the Louis Vuitton City Guide 2011 features 600 addresses that embody the essence of Paris. A few Audrey Hepburn films, a Gossip Girl episode, and a Louis Vuitton City Guide later and I’ll have the perfect Parisian getaway planned to perfection.

[3] I own the Manta Ray bangle, it’s positively stunning and it’s created a sort of obsession with the Alkemie line. The Starfish ring is next on my must have list, and I’m looking to collect all the animalistic cast in the Alkemie collection. They’re simple, but gorgeous – and happen to be socially and environmentally responsible; each piece is made from 100% reclaimed metal, hand crafted in Los Angeles.

[4] My penchant for odd little pendants continues, from Jessics de Lotz Jewellery, the Red Relished Resin Apple Necklace is quirky and that’s just the way I like it. Perhaps it’s the apple Snow White ate, or the forbidden fruit, but somehow this ravished apple is sexy and dark.

[5] From my fingernails to my feet, wine is one of my favorite shades for Fall, and booties are one of those fall necessities. These Proenza Schouler Lace-up booties in wine suede are luxurious and provocative. Not to mention, the 4.5 inch heel makes them sort of bearable for the New York City streets that seem to be ripping my feet and my favorite heels to shreds.

Coveted Deeply

Coveted Deeply[1] This looks like a jewelry box I’d keep on my vanity or chest of drawers but it’s actually a clutch purse from Poupee Couture. I love its duality, the black box on gold lattice work is utterly gorgeous. I spied something like this in the BCBG Max Azria Fall Winter 2011 show, but this one I can have now if my heart desires.

[2] This is called a tortoise decanter, for the true wine connoisseur in me. It’s more than just that piece you pull out when company’s over, it’s the kind of piece you want to put on display because it’s so gorgeous. This Steuben creation is a work of art.

[3] I can picture Christina Hendricks wearing this Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Red Solid Sunday top on the set of Mad Men. It’s vintage sixties feel is timeless and I’d love to dress it up by mixing it with other decades and creating a modern perspective. I want to wear it as an open vest over a slouchy vintage tee, a pair of skinny jeans and canvas oxfords.

[4] The splashes of color on this Proenza Schouler mini make me all kinds of happy. I’m a color fanatic and the frilly texture paired with the green and blue decidedly non-girly colors makes it even more my cup of tea.

[5] This Rachel Roy ring is blue burnished metal enrobed by a snake, it’s ultra edgy, but what I find a little hilarious is the one red eye, one clear. The texture and dimensions of this ring make it a phenomenal covet worthy piece that I can’t get out of my head.

The Fantastic Four: Tassels

The Fantastic Four: Tassels

What can you really say about tassels? They never just lie around, they’re always moving, always animated – a single whip of air will cause the little fringe pieces to sway along with it. I’m so used to seeing these delicate accents in home decor, but I love them even more in fashionable attire. From bags and shoes to belts and necklaces, tassels look good on just about anything, even your curtains. Although technically speaking the addition of one extra item makes this ‘Fantastic Four’ actually ‘Fantastic Five,’ I couldn’t quite pick one over the other.

[1] These Proenza Schouler tasseled slingbacks are too cute, the contrast of peachy pink with brown and deep green work so well together, they’re the perfect spring shoes, all I need to add to them for summer is something I like to call a tan. [2] Elvira Sazesh has a collection fraught with tassels make are so beautiful it made it hard for me to pick just one, I could only narrow it down to two - the coral tassel necklace and matching bracelet. [3] It’s called Spirit green, but it’s more like a pastel blue, nevertheless this See by Chloé Cherry mini crossbody bag is so perfectly compact for the days when I don’t feel like carrying the weight of the world on my shoulder. [4] I want this belt so badly, I’m a sucker for anything that cinches at the waist and this Paul & Joe, Ania waisted tassel belt is hitting all the right notes for my spring wardrobe.
