Phylicia Rashad’s portrayal of one of the strongest black women ever on TV, the Cosby Show’s beautiful and brilliant, Claire Huxtable had it all. Her style, her grace, her uncanny ability to be every woman, is exactly what every woman needs. As far as black style icons go, fictional or not, Claire Huxtable is the epitome of classic, timeless style. From a wardrobe of silk blouses and oversized earrings to a house decorated with an unimaginably tasteful eye, Claire Huxtable made it look way too easy. The loose fit of this yellow silk blouse from Reiss is the quintessential Claire Huxtable blouse. Clip-on or not, I love these big shell earrings, the epitome of accessories from the eighties right on through the nineties, I could definitely have raided Claire’s jewelry box. I remember a kettle that looked just like this in the ever frequented Huxtable kitchen, and I want one just like it, the teal metal just adds a little fun. Claire’s raspberry lips spoke infinite words of wisdom, perhaps a little of it will rub off on me with the Bobbi Brown raspberry pink lipstick. The cheekbones, the wardrobe, the infinite wisdom of Dr. Claire Huxtable makes her the sort of woman every woman should want to feel like.
