Pick Three: Lanvin

If a girl’s got a closet to play around it might as well stocked with Lanvin. What started as a mother making clothes for her daughter has become a runway favorite with a selection of pieces some of us would give anything to live in. Lanvin has an effortlessly French approach to fashion that combines this impeccably tailored way of making clothing and bags, with a stunning knack for luxury footwear. I love the exquisitely draped dresses, and the array of colors and shades that Lanvin likes to play with.

#1

Court Shoes;
These shoes are kick ass right down to the heel. While style stalking at fashion week I noticed a girl stumbling along in wedges with gold cuffs strapped to her ankles and these give me that style equivalent without capturing the accessories I love to have on hand.
Available at Colette.fr for $1,087.22.

#2

Tie Waist Dress;
Chic and simple, the ‘English Green’ hue is the perfect nearly black shade to contrast with something bright and vibrant. The cowl neck and tie waist also make it super flattering that’ll emphasize all the right assets of the femme silhouette.
Available at Barneys.com for $1,650.00.

#3

Happy Tangerine Bag;
The Lanvin iconic Happy bag makes me all kinds of giddy in this shade of tangerine. The stunning shade makes this classic a go to for fall color blocking for the bold and the beautiful style maven that lurks somewhere in my closet.
Available at CultStatus.com.au for $2,195.00 AUD.

The Fantastic Four: Wide Brim Hats

The Fantastic Four: Wide Brim Hats

Nothing says beach weather quite like a wide brim hat, they go perfectly with oversized sunglasses and are just plain fun. Worn correctly they can give off the certain air of mystique that can be a girl’s best friend. They’re alluring and a timeless accessory you’ll go back to season after season. Style icons favor them and it’s no wonder why, they’re gorgeous and something about the right hat makes any outfit seem ten times more stylish. Whether laying out by the pool, or strolling around on sun-drenched vacations, I’m looking forward to sporting one of these hats when the weather decides to be sensible and conform to seasonal norms.

[1] This Lanvin straw hat has this super wide brim that’s totally over the top, and the Swarovski crystal pin-embellishment makes it just that more decadent. [2] The sandy pink hue of this Eugenia Kim wide brimmed hat beckons to the beach, not to mention the little added nautical knot detail makes me crave a day out on the yacht. [3] This floppy felt hat from ASOS puts a dose of non-traditional color into the mix, the silhouette and materials are regal, but the color gives it this cool modern approach. [4] A simple black hat never looked so good, the Maison Michel Blanche Capeline is the perfect wide brim hat, I can picture it on the likes of Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian in the tabloids, or on a girl who’s got the world on a string and knows how to work really girly pieces with a bit of androgynous edge.

Coveted Deeply

Coveted Deeply: 27.03.11

[1] I’m not a fan of leopard print anything, but the vintage appeal of this swimsuit makes it something I’ve fallen in love with unexpectedly. The structured sweetheart neckline and black elastic belt at the waist of this Lanvin leopard suit is (dare I utter these words when referencing leopard print) — sexy.

[2] Nothing says spring quite like tulips and while taking care of these bulbs when gardening can take quite a bit of work this little tulip usb cluster is an attractive tech-savvy gadget, great for plugging in my mouse, digital camera, external drive, and BlackBerry, along with anything else I need to plug in (see #4).

[3] I have a borderline obsessive attraction to rings, and my obsession with turquoise has past the ‘boderline’ with no hope or want of return. I especially love cameo rings so this Tagliamonte – 18 karat gold ring is at the top of my lust list. The pop of turquoise in the etched mother of pearl is truly extraordinary.

[4] I’m going gaga for spring flowers and Cherry Blossoms are kind of kismet appreciation for nature, after everything that’s happening in Japan. This Cherry Blossom Flip Camera is so cute, compact and a totally covet-worthy. It’s super girly, but for some reason I don’t mind, because I seriously love Cherry Blossoms.

[5] Wide leg pants are back and better than ever, and curvy girls like me can now find solace in cloaking our hips in these apricot wide leg trousers. What makes these pants so appealing is that they aren’t black, brown or navy, the kind of burnt orange, apricot hue of these trousers makes them work so much better than any neutral ever could. I just want them.
