Among my many childhood oddities: I might have played with my mothers make up and tried on her clothes, but oddly enough I remember gravitating towards my father’s cologne. When I was a toddler and anyone asked me where my father was, I’d say ‘Daddy working’ and it wasn’t because my father was always working, he could have been right beside me and I’d have said the same thing every time. But, whenever my dad did come home from work, I’d run to the door to hug him, and my senses would instantly be flooded with the scent of his cologne and that’s just how I remembered him.
It’s probably for that reason that I gravitate to masculine scents, or it may just be my aversion to smelling like flowers and candy all the time. When I really like a guy, I don’t mind smelling like him, I actually like it. So this new perfume from Kate Walsh, “Boyfriend” is right up my alley. The best part is that I don’t have to get my heartstrings all tangled up in knots to wear it. Boyfriend still airs on the feminine side, Kate’s vision was to make a perfume that captured the essence of that smell you get when your boyfriend’s scent mixes with yours. It’s a super sensual scent in a classic cologne bottle scrawled with the names or random potential boyfriends to be. With notes of Dark Plum, jasmine blooms, skin musk, golden amber, vanilla woods, and myrrh, this blend embodies the essence of a lovers embrace.
