Hair How To: Sandra Bullock at the Oscars

Sandra Bullock at the Oscars

Bearing in mind how gorgeous Sandra Bullock looked on the red carpet, it was all about the glamor and the real total package. The scarlet Vera Wang gown and simple diamond studs only looked more spectacular thanks to David Babaii’s hair artistry, putting her textured tresses in a sophisticated chignon updo. And the best part is, we’ve got the inside scoop on how to score this hairstyle at home:

You’ll need:

[1] 1-inch straightening iron.

[2] Bobby Pins.

[3] Hair Oil/Serum

[4] Blow Dryer

[5] Wide Tooth Comb

Directions:

[1] Starting with just washed, towel dried hair – Apply your favorite frizz taming hair oil treatment serum (David used the Couture Colour Pequi Oil) and comb through using a wide tooth comb for even distribution.

[2] Blow-dry hair using a round brush; you’ll want a smooth finish.

[3] Apply a few additional drops of your hair oil and brush your hair straight back.

[4] Starting at the front, twist half inches of hair and press down along the twisted sections using the flat iron to create a wavy texture. (Tip: let each strand cool and release naturally). Repeat this step until you’ve achieved the full textured look throughout your whole head.

[5] With a little more of your hair oil, finger comb your hair back into a ponytail above the nape of your neck.

[6] Wrap hair around the band, securing pieces with bobby pins. Let any loose hairs fall naturally as you pin along the chignon.
